MARATHON CLASSIC IN THE ARDENNES.

The legendary 24 Hours of Spa.

Marathon classic in the Ardennes. The legendary 24 Hours of Spa.

Alongside the 24-hour races on the Nordschleife and in Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps is one of the highlights of the international endurance calendar. Spa is a 24-hour party, a true festival of GT racing. BMW is a permanent guest at this fan festival in the Belgian region of the Ardennes. BMW racing cars have triumphed in Spa on 23 occasions in the past. The last two years have both yielded success: in 2015, the BMW Z4 GT3 triumphed in its final major 24-hour race. In 2016, the BMW M6 GT3 followed in the footsteps of its predecessor on its Spa debut. In 2017, BMW Motorsport wasn't able to score the hat-trick.

BAD LUCK PREVENTS TOP RESULT AT THE ARDENNES CLASSIC.

ROWE Racing finishes the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in the top 10.

After the two victories in 2015 and 2016, the BMW teams were missing the racing luck required to be able to fight for the win this time at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Technical issues with both the ROWE Racing cars, which were both in promising positions, ended any hopes of another top result. The best-placed BMW M6 GT3 after 24 hours on the “Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps” was the number 98 in tenth place. Bruno Spengler, Tom Blomqvist and Nick Catsburg took it in turns at the wheel of the car with the trio were at the front of the field for a while. The win after 546 laps went to the number 25 Audi.
