BS+COMPETITION has a big squad of so-called hybrid racers, who are successful in real and virtual motor racing. Among them are BMW works drivers Bruno Spengler and Philipp Eng. They are among the dominant teams in the Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series (DNLS) competing in the BMW M4 GT3 in 2021 and having finished third in the first race. In January, BMW Team Bank celebrated victory in the GTD class at the prestigious iRacing Special 24h Daytona. “We raced in virtual BMWs last year, but to now be an official BMW Motorsport SIM Racing team makes us all very proud,” says Spengler, who is both a BMW works driver in the world of real racing, and also team captain of BS+COMPETITION in sim racing.

One Esports project that worked out so well last year that it has been expanded to sim racing this season. Under the maxim ‘United in Rivalry’, G2 Esports has been supported by BMW in ‘League of Legends’ since in 2020, and has established itself as one of the very best teams. G2 Esports is also a top team on the sim racing scene – particularly on the Assetto Corsa Competizione simulation platform. G2 Esports made its debut as one of the four BMW Motorsport SIM Racing teams on 9th January. “BMW has been a partner of G2 Esports for over a year, and we could not be prouder or happier to now extend this partnership into the world of motor racing,” said G2 Esports CEO Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodriguez.
Operated by Williams Esports.
BMW Team GB, which is operated by Williams Esports, competes for BMW in GT cars on iRacing as well as in the Formula E car on rFactor 2. BMW Team GB had its first appearances in January in the BMW M8 GTE at the iRacing Special 24h Daytona, in the BMW M4 GT3 in the DNLS and in the BMW iFE.21 at 'Formula E: Accelerate' represented by driver Petar Brljak. The Williams Esports team is positioned very broadly in sim racing and regularly challenges for victories and titles on many different platforms – with the same name as the Formula 1 team.
World class a all disciplines.
BMW Team Redline offers world class on iRacing and on rFactor 2. Starts for BMW include the BMW M8 GTE and the Formula E car. It all started in January at the iRacing Special 24h Daytona and with Kevin Siggy racing at 'Formula E: Accelerate' in the BMW iFE.21. Team Redline can look back on a unique success story in sim racing and is one of the favourites in every race that features a Redline car. “We are extremely excited about the coming year. We believe we are a very good match for BMW, with its motorsport history and vision of the future for sim racing,” said Dom Duhan, founder and head of Team Redline. “New challenges and more top-level competitions await us in 2021. Our collaboration with BMW will hopefully give us the opportunity to enjoy great success at many different events."
