WALKENHORST MOTORSPORT.
A success story.
In his main job, team owner Henry Walkenhorst is a successful BMW dealer. He has always combined his profession with his passion – motor racing - with great success. “The idea, which we came up with years ago, was to combine professional racing with our business, to encourage more people to buy sporty BMWs from us,” says Walkenhorst. “And it is working very nicely. The customers say ‘If Walkenhorst is actively involved in motorsport, and is doing well, then he is probably better than others.’”
He, himself, drives a BMW M6 GT3 in many top-class GT races. The team’s biggest success came in 2018, with overall victory at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The following year, Walkenhorst Motorsport contested its first full season in the IGTC and, after a spectacular fightback, claimed an excellent second place in the final race in Kyalami. In 2020, the team competes with two BMW M6 GT3.
