The portfolio in the BMW M Motorsport programme is gaining a new top-of-the-range model, in the form of the BMW M4 GT3. The new GT3 car will succeed the BMW M6 GT3. As of the 2022 season, private drivers and teams from all over the world will have the opportunity to challenge for victories and titles in the top car in the M Motorsport range, which is based on the next generation of BMW M4. The rollout on 18th July 2020 at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing marked an important milestone in the development of the new BMW icon for the GT racing scene. After months of virtual work, BMW works driver Augusto Farfus heralded the next phase of preparations.

Since then, the BMW M4 GT3 has undergone an intense programme of testing.

*Official data on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see www.bmw.de/wltp.

I can’t wait to take the BMW M4 GT3 onto the starting grid. The BMW M4 GT3 will already take part in its first race next year and will be able to prove how it performs under competitive conditions. I am sure that it has what it takes to continue the long-standing and successful tradition of BMW M vehicles.
