Participants and participation requirements.

The competition will commence on 27th March 2019 at 12:30 pm (CET). The participation takes place by posting a comment under the social media post, where the hashtag that is depicted in the video will need to be correctly typed.

Participation is free of charge and does not require the purchase of goods or services. More than one entry is forbidden.

Proof of submission is not proof of receipt. No responsibility can be accepted for entries incomplete, delayed, damaged, wrongly delivered or not received for whatever reason.

The winner will be the person who first guesses the hashtag (appearing in the
video) correctly. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these
terms and conditions.

Exclusion from participation.

In case of incorrect information, or should any suspicion arise that entrants are using unfair means, or should a participant or third party have benefitted from any manipulation or breached these entry conditions, BMW reserves the right to disqualify the participant(s) from the competition without having to specify any reason.

Employees of BMW, subsidiaries and affiliated companies of BMW, employees of companies involved in the competition, and the relatives of the aforementioned persons are not permitted to enter. The Promoter will not accept entries that are completed by third parties, are in bulk, illegible, have been reconstructed, forged or are incomplete.

Every person over the age of 18, who is resident in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain and the United Kingdom is eligible to participate. People who are not yet 18 years of age during the contest period are automatically excluded from participation. BMW reserves the right to check the age of majority. 

In entering the prize contest, you confirm you are eligible to do so. The promoter may require you to provide evidence of your eligibility.

Participation also requires membership on the Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereafter referred to as "Facebook"). Participants who violate the conditions of participation can be excluded.

For the competition, only those who participate within the deadline set for this purpose will be admitted.

Participants may also be excluded retroactively and in this case a win may be recalled.

Competition procedures, notification of winner

The contact of the winners takes place after the closing date, according to the following principle: The Person who first guesses the exact hashtag depicted in the corresponding video in the raffle mail gets the prize. Several people guess the correct answer, the first person to answer correctly, wins the prize. The winner will be notified by BMW or the appointed partner via Facebook comment function on the 28th March 2019. Be aware that the names of the winners will be posted under the competition post as a comment.

The winners will be notified with a comment under the competition post of Facebook (“notification of win”) by BMW or a contracted partner, whereby the winners are entitled to the prize only if they confirm acceptance of the win with BMW within two calendar days of the notification of win (“acceptance of win”). If the winner does not confirm acceptance of the win within this period, a new winner will be contacted. There is only a legally enforceable right to claim if the prize has been communicated in writing to the winner and has been accepted by the winner within two calendar days.

If two participants simultaneously answer correctly the hashtag, BMW reserves the right to draw the winner.

First Prize:

Two Race Suite tickets (1 Winner - 2 tickets) will be given to the person who first guessed the exact hashtag depicted in the corresponding video of the "BMW i Motorsport Hashtag Race Challenge" competition correctly on the BMW Motorsport Facebook page and meets the requirements of the raffle. The Race Suite Ticket includes entry to the Rome E-Prix of the ABB Formula E Championship on April 13th, 2019. Subject to availability, BMW reserves the right to provide a prize of equivalent value.


Second Prize:

One BMW i Motorsport Lifestyle Backpack will be sent to the second person who guessed the exact hashtag depicted in the corresponding video of the “BMW i Motorsport Hashtag Race Challenge” competition on the BMW Motorsport Facebook page and meets the requirements of the raffle. The BMW i Backpack is an exclusive product made out of “Appleskin”, a vegan material imitating leather. It is a grey and is approx. 42cm high, 28cm wide and 10,5cm long.


Third Prize:

One BMW i Motorsport Pencil Set will be sent to the third person who guessed the exact hashtag depicted in the corresponding video of the “BMW i Motorsport Hashtag Race Challenge” competition on the BMW Motorsport Facebook page and meets the requirements of the raffle. The BMW i Motorsport Pencil set was produced sustainably. It has a minimalist design with BMW i branding on the edges.


Cash payment of the prize is not possible. Gain claims are not transferable to other persons and cannot be exchanged. Ultimately, BMW does not guarantee that the race will take place. Any costs for travel, hotel accommodation, visas or paddock access are to be borne by the winner and will not be borne by BMW. There shall be no cash payment in lieu of prizes. A win cannot be transferred to other people and cannot be swapped.

Termination of competition

BMW reserves the right to end or terminate the competition at any time and to change the entry conditions, particularly if, for technical or legal reasons, it can no longer be guaranteed that the competition is run properly.

Privacy rights for film and photo footage

In the event of a win, BMW will share the name of the winner on their official social media channel on Facebook.

The participant also consents to having their name and photo published for advertising purposes in the event of winning the BMW competition. This consent applies to all methods of BMW’s corporate communication and advertising (online and offline) and is unrestricted by time and location in this respect. This allows the publishing of photos on BMW’s websites and on all official BMW social media channels.

For the performance of the "BMW i Motorsport Hashtag Race Challenge" competition, personal data is collected by Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft, including [name and surname and e-mail address of the participant, if applicable]. The data is processed exclusively for the performance of the raffle (Article 6 (1) (b) DSGVO), in this context possibly made available to third parties (e.g. companies associated with organizers within the meaning of §§ 15ff AktG and / or service providers supplement if necessary) and deleted after the end of the contest.

Liability of BMW

BMW is liable only for willful intent and gross negligence. This does not apply in the event of negligent breach of a material contractual obligation. These are liabilities that are crucial for holding the competition, since they enable the competition and participants can rely on their fulfilment. In this instance, the liability of BMW in the event of minor negligence is restricted to damages typical of the competition and that are foreseeable. The limitation of liability does not apply to damages resulting from injury to life, limbs and health.

There is no right of appeal. There is no enforceable claim to the win or the payout of the cash value. All local tax or legal compliance to be done or cost thereon shall be borne by participant only.
