The Falcons show their fighting spirit.

For vast periods of the race, the "Saudi Falcons by Schubert" were on track for a podium with the BMW Z4 GT3 in Dubai. That was until a technical problem resulted in them dropping back to fourth. The team's second car fought back from an earlier setback.

The Falcons show their fighting spirit.

An unscheduled stop for repairs in the 21st hour at the "Dubai Autodrome" cost Claudia Hürtgen, Jörg Müller, Edward Sandström and Abdulaziz Turki Al Faisal in the number 1 BMW Z4 GT3 valuable time and ultimately a top-three finish. Less than ten seconds separated the "Saudi Falcons" from the third-placed Mercedes at the end of the desert marathon.

The engine in the sister car had to be replaced early on in the race, meaning a top finish was unfortunately out of the question. However, the Schubert team battled on – and the number 5 car eventually fought its way back up to 42nd place, despite having had to stop for several hours for the repairs to be carried out.

Müller said: "In the end it was the thankless fourth place for us. But you also call it thankless when you finish second. We would obviously have liked to finish on the podium, but I have rarely experienced such a close finish at a 24-hour race. That shows just how fierce the competition was here. A lot of good cars lined up here, and the team that made the fewest mistakes deservedly won the race. I really enjoyed racing for the Saudi Falcons. 24-hour races are always fun.”
